2023 Christmas Newsletter

January started with life in Kelowna mostly back to normal, Anne playing bridge with her group and I enjoying Senior Curling during weekdays and snowmobiling on the weekends.
In February travelled to Palm Springs and San Diego for a winter break and a visit with friends. I was able to fly (passenger) in a WWII P51 Mustang for 40 minutes. A total once in a lifetime experience!

After a week back in Ktown it was off to Yellowknife for a visit with Lisa and family during their Spring Break.  Bill also drove from Edmonton for our short family reunion.  All too soon it was back home to Kelowna,

On the May long weekend we joined Owen in Edmonton for a basketball tournament which his team took Bronze 😃. We had planned to continue on a AB/SK tour but the AB wildfire smoke forced us back to Kelowna.

We enjoyed good "smoke free" weather and took in car and airshows until the middle of August when local wildfires "blew up"and even though we weren't on a mandatory evacuation area we escaped home and drove to Cranbrook with Owen to join Lisa and family who were evacuated due to NWT wildfires. What we had intended to be away for a few days until the Kelowna area fires settled down turned into almost 3 weeks with stays in Edmonton and Whitecourt AB with our family while they were waiting to travel back to Yellowknife..  Sometimes natural disasters can turn into something great,

In September we trailered our 1935 Ford Cabriolet to a 3 day collector car show in Long Beach Washington and had a visit with friends. Shortly after we enjoyed an 11 day cruise around Puget Sound/San Juan Islands out of Seattle in awesome fall weather.

Back home in October it was back to enjoying the BC fall weather Senior Curling (me) and Bridge (Anne).

Both Christmas and New Years we were home in Kelowna.  Bill drove from Edmonton to join us for Christmas.

The mild (El Niño) temperatures has postponed snowmobiling for now.

Wishing you Happy Holidays and a  Happy and Healthy 2024
